Just a couple more weeks and it will be storming the motorways of Kuala Lumpur!

Finally some updates

After heading back to Malaysia 2 weeks ago, I made sure the Rolla had to be sorted out after nearly 2 years of not seeing and taking care of it. Straight to the paint shop for a new coat of paint, cant wait to see pics of it when its done! Guess the colour I'm heading for....

Absence

If you happened to stumble upon this lovely blog of mine and you're wondering why no updates have been made for a long time.

NO I havent sold the car.

NO the car is not dead.

NO I havent even seen my car for the past 8 months.

I'm studying abroad now and wont be back to work on my car till probably mid next year.

My brother might do it up once he obtains his drivers so we'll see, other than that,

BE PATIENT, lotsa plans are being written down and my baby is ready to undergo an extensive full overhaul / rebuild. Till then...

Engine mounts..

I had a broken gearbox mount, causing lots of hard shifts, so I had to get it replaced asap
Opting to replace with the normal stock one or the polyutherane ones, as I'm a lil tight on budget, I had to resort to some mods..

Work done, 15mins of hard labour pumping silicone poly into the mounting.
All my hands were black, thank god for plastic gloves, or else it wouldve been worse...

I think as they say, airconditioning isnt meant for track cars. Its true, my car is rejecting every single airconditioning repair im doing. gg

Cool air part 2

Shit ass aircond giving me problems. Was freaking cold for about a week before it decided to give way, WHEN I WAS STUCK IN SUBANG JAM!

Anyway she's going to the painter right after her air-cond is fixed.

corolla in the states

The guys over at corollateam.tk (i think they are from USA) have some crazy AE80s running around over there. Kudos to them and their rides, i managed to get some inspiration for their site btw.

Cool air

Have been driving around in the rolla without aircond for quite sometime because my halfcut had a faulty compressor.

So after 2 long months of waiting, another one had finally arrived!

Picked up a used anti-roll bar for about 100 bucks, came with the lower arms, and since my rear lower arm bushes were quite worn anyway, i took that chance to kill 2 birds with 1 gun stone

I think ill give it a nice coat of paint soon.

Oops my modified fuel tank shown. Its a AE92 Trueno tank.

Next step, my door panels. Hmmmm....

Formula D

Vid i took in Formula D during the past weekend. Event was all good, only judging as expected was unfair. Oh well, its called GOODYEAR Formula D for a reason, Toyo/Federal/Achillies/Kumho dont really stand a chance unless luck is on their side.

Interior inspirations

Was hunting for some door panels online for the AE80/82, needed some inspirations to custom my own doors. So here are the results, stolen from various websites.

Clean n simple single tone coloured, spotting a 6.5" component set, probably fiber made pods

A lil more tricky, 2 toned double 6" speaker pods

Another clean looking one, but bright colours are out of my options, going full black/red for the interior, with white LEDs lighting up the dark.

This looked suitable, althought i think the rear side of the panels can be utilised, adding in bottle holders or compartments for storage

So the final verdict? Soon to come out, as I've finally finished my 6 months of internship, now on super duper long break before i begin my degree. Meaning i got heckuva long time to restore my rolla.

Puspakom inspection

Car went for inspection "AS IS" (loud exhaust, lots of strut bars, some body spot welds etc etc), and boy do they love coffee *smirks*

My beloved car came out on Astro Star Sports a couple months ago, just found the video online.

Its at the beginning, about 0.03. I myself also appeared receiving prize at 2.18. Not bad huh making it onto international television.

Kelawang outing

Took a day trip to Seremban via Semenyih, Sungai Tekala & Kuala Kelawang route during Hari Raya Haji holiday. First timer on the curvy roads, at 8am it was great fun!

Nice stretch of road back. Had lots of fun chasing my mate's Waja.

Boring sunday

Got my DIY mojo and decided to get a couple of things done. Painted the cam covers and also used my old fuel filter as an oil catch tank.Painted it flat black,
Now i can tell people i drive a "black top" 4A-GE!

Cost : Paint - RM7 (Abro matt black)
2 hours of hard labour
Resulting a very happy owner!
